SECONDARY & VOCATIONAL SCHOOL IN KRZYWIŃ

 

Our School is located in a touristicly attractive region. In the past eleven years (1993 – 2007) of functioning, the school has developed a lot and strenghtened its position on educational market. We have created an opportunity to gain modern, thorough education.

 

Our graduates feel at home in the modern world of knowledge, technology and culture and boldly face all the challenges of adult life. We make up a community in which there are good relations student – teacher – parent.

 

The time devoted to gaining knowledge for our students becomes an intellectual adventure and gives them a chance for an interesting and useful youth.

BROAD OPPORTUNITIES FOR FURTHER EDUCATION

 

Among the majors most often chosen by our graduates are economics, information technology, marketing and management, biology, Polish philology, mathematics, tourism, pedagogy, psychology, chemistry and pharmacy.

 

The graduates from our vocational school are well prepared for working as a baker, a confectioner, a sales assistant, an electrician, a mechanic, a carpenter, an upholsterer, a bricklayer, a cook, a hairdresser, a locksmith, a painter and as a mechanic and operator of agricultural machines. They willingly continue education getting secondary education.

 

DEVELOPING INTERESTS

 

l Biological group

  To students interested in biology Dr Krzysztof Kujawa proposes:

   Ø Participation in a biological contest (collecting research material in the area and working out a project)

   Ø Taking part in the contest for Young Scientists of the European Union

   Ø Publication of the research in scientific periodicals

   Ø Sight-seeing tours to unique nooks of Poland

 

l The club of National Geographic’s friends

   The club has been in existence since 2001 with Geography teacher Grażyna         

   Kuźmińska in charge of it.

   Ø The club possesses an unusual collection of year’s issues of National   Geographic since 1932 in English version which have been given to the school by Cioromscy family from Chicago.

   Ø The members of the club have established contacts with famous travellers, tourist and sight-seeing group from Secondary School No. 1 in Leszno and National Geographic club from Bukowina Tatrzańska

   Ø  We publish club school newspaper entitled ‘EARTH’ and organize sight-seeing tours

 

TRAVEL BROADENS THE MIND…

 

Within the confines of cooperation with French region Le Beny-Bocage our secondary school runs summer exchange programme for youth. The students improve their language skills, get to know the beauty of France and make new friends.

 

LITERARY AND ARTISTIC CAFÉ

 

Within the confines of meetings the youth:

Ø Edit literary school newspaper ‘Nota bene’

Ø Participate in journalist workshops

Ø Prepare themselves for theatre performances and recitation contests

 

During the meetings with famous poets of the region, our young novices read their pieces of writing and listen to critical comments of the masters. Original décor of the place heightens a unique atmosphere of the meetings.

Ø      Lectures of the research workers from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Polytechnic in Wrocław and Vocational College in Leszno

Ø      Seminars and laboratory classes at Academy of Medicine in Wrocław

Ø      Cooperation with the research workers from Polytechnic in Hamburg during the realization of the virtual project of Krzywiń (learning to operate the ArchiCAD programme during information technology classes)

Ø      Participation in the research carried out by the research workers of Polish Academy of Sciences Research Station in Turew
